the baseball madness has begun

last night we went to our church gym to begin practicing baseball with jett and davis. before i get to that part though i have a funny story about why duffer had to wait over an hour for me and the kids to get to the gym.

duffer had been at the storage unit(s) getting the baseball stuff out for the boys and i was waiting on vanessa to bring me a car seat (she offered to get one even though i was going that evening). when she got there we had the hardest time trying to get the cup holder on the seat...at one point vanessa was even trying to put it on upside down! we were dying laughing and she volunteered to stay with the kids while i hooked the seat up in the car.

about 5 minutes later i came back upstairs WITH the seat and said, "you would think after me having 3 children i would know that you have to adjust the straps first!" ~typical nicole moment~ i was cold outside so i came back in to do this. it took us over an HOUR to figure out how to do this. we had trouble getting the hook through the tiny little slots, couldn't find any instructions, the straps wouldn't reach to clasp...it was one thing after another. vanessa broke a nail and we both had migraines so you can imagine how we felt. finally i flipped the seat over and tucked up under a flap underneath was the instruction booklet! of all places to hide it!!! so after many mishaps, sweating and laughing, i finally got the seat installed in my vehicle...yeah both kids are legal again!!

so we finally get to the gym...the plan was that i was going to drop off the boys, take a few pictures, and then rylee and me would come back home. duffer ended up getting so much stuff (toys and stuff) from storage that he had no room for the boys to ride in there so i had to stay.

here are a few pictures...

check out my little mini pro...jett and davis are playing on separate teams...

davis is playing on Sullivan Pirates like last year but this year the coaches are different and it is a 9U team (last year was 8U). all of our tournaments will be at Domtar ball field and we won't play regular games during the week...just tournaments on the weekends. we will still go to knoxville a couple of times.

here is my little princess saying "CHEESE". can you say bad hair day??

check out davis' cool necklace...vanessa gave that to him as we were leaving. it is a guitar pick...because he loves guitar hero III so much...and it says PICK JESUS. it also has a bible verse on the back but i can't remember what it is.

jett is very dramatic as you can tell. so jett is going to be a bat boy on our friend daniel's team...daniel was the pitching coach from davis' team last year. (if you recall davis didn't make the Select team or he would be playing with daniel's oldest son this year) daniel is coaching an 8U Select team that his youngest son is on and jett will be on that team. duffer and jett did tee ball last year and duffer thinks jett needs to be playing real ball...whatever...must be a daddy thing. :o)

rylee was running and i caught her quickly as she blew by me....

duffer looking ever so thrilled as he was getting frustrated with davis not taking it seriously.

so i wanted in on the action...duffer was hitting balls to the boys and i love to hit...i guess rylee was trying to be like her mommy! :o)

and just so you can have a laugh her was my attempt...in this picture i was waiting on jett to throw the ball back to me...

and here i am hitting to them...and you can see that i can actually hit the ball. i was just throwing them up and hitting to them.

sadly i made one phone call and rylee kept running out in the way and duffer said it was time to go...he has very little patience as you can tell. ;-)
