our weekend

so we have a had a pretty lame weekend...doing a bunch of nothing! my previous post mentioned how we practiced baseball on friday night. yesterday was spent with me running errands all day...ugh...and then our friends, the allen's, came over. we ate pizza and watched football...yes i actually had to sit there and watch football, can you believe it??? that is something i never do! i just can't get into it if it isn't my kids or i am not there in person. it was a lot of fun hanging out with the allen's since it had been forever since we had gotten together. two of the highlights of the night were:

1. us talking about the unfinished roof on the allen's house and we were talking about whether or not james could finish it all himself. i made the mistake and opened my big mouth and said "you could probably do all of it except the trussels right?" everyone started cracking and the funniest part was that duffer and james were on the same planet when they thought trussels were both tassels and truffles because they were mixing the words together! i was quickly corrected that it is trusses (who knows if that is how you spell it since i obviously didn't say it correctly) but we definitely had a good laugh out of it.
2. then as they were leaving cassie said she had debating telling me this but she was going to anyone. my snowman star that i got as a door prize at the prayer sister party...and she knew this because she had ordered the same one not realizing it was like mine (great minds think alike) was hung on my wall with the rubber ends still on it. now you see i thought they were supposed to stay on it...thought that was the look but apparently they were only there for packing reasons. those suckers had fallen off a ton and i just kept putting them back on their like an idiot! sometimes i wonder about myself?!?

today has been pretty relaxing...got up made pancakes for breakfast, went to church and then we have all been laying around watching tv and napping. we intended to go back to church by 4:30 for the financial peace university preview session and then stay for night church but once we get home we just can't ever get back out. we have so little time to just be together and spend time with each other since both of us work full time that sundays end up being family time. i know we should go back to night church but it is also time for us to be together too. well...gonna go try to con duffer into watching a movie with me...wish me luck! ;O)
