Our goal today has been to get Davis to be able to put his contacts in on his own and to get him to swallow his medicine. It is a capsule with beads in it and we have had to pull it apart and then dump it on his tongue and then have him wash it down with a drink since he couldn't swallow the pill.
So this morning we hit a milestone...it took a hour but we finally got Davis to swallow his Adderall medicine that he has been on for 2 years. What was funny was how it happened.
Jett was watching the entire episode and how we were having Davis swallow his Singulair first as practice...even though it is chewable. Jett being the know-it-all that he is...took his Singulair and went up to Davis, with his water, and acted like he was going to swallow his. He acted like he had some reservation but then before I could tell him that he didn't have to do it...he had swallowed it!!! Can you believe that...Jett can swallow a pill at 4 years old?!?!?!
So Davis finally swallowed his Singulair...after much fretting over it...about 30 minutes later and then his Adderall...about 30 more minutes later. After he swallowed it though, he realized how easy it was and that he should've been swallowing them the whole time!
We are letting him take a break...after all the trauma...before we move on to the contacts. After all he knows how to put them in, he just needs to get faster at it.
