family time

tonight we had a relaxing night at home. i cooked hamburger steak for dinner...one of my favorite recipes of a childhood friend (i used to LIVE at her house and they always cooked it for me since i was SO picky and then when i got older her mom finally told me how to cook it!!)...and then we stayed in...i did laundry, played on the computer and the kids played while duffer piddled.

then we all watched ER from Thursday...thank heaven for TiVo...he he he! while we watched TV Jett colored me a couple of pictures and they were so good...for a 4 year old...that i told him i would post them on my blog so the family could see.

i am warning you now...the pictures of me are scary...when you clean all day and lay around, you just can't look like a beauty queen! ;O) it seems like i have been giving this warning a lot lately...maybe one of these days i will post some good pictures.

here is Jett TOTALLY not wanting his picture taken and refusing to get in the photo with me and the other two...

this is how the 3 of us were sitting watching TV...i was pretty hot by the time the show was over.

we had just finished eating Cheetos so they were all a little messy! Friday nights is the one night during the week that we slack and skip baths...unless of course we have to be somewhere the next morning.

Rylee is my 'punkin' and duffer caught me lovin on her...if you ask her she will say "me mommy's punkin!"

this picture took some effort to make look good...had to perform some digital dentistry. it is a constant battle trying to get Davis to brush his teeth and it drives me crazy!!! i thought his teeth looked really bad so i whitened them up...you can also see his lazy eye a bit...it sticks out when he doesn't have his contacts in.

here is his first drawing...all my kids are in to Spongebob and they had watched it earlier...so here is the jellyfish from the episode. i thought he did really well considering no one directed him as to how to draw a jellyfish!

and here is the 2nd drawing...it is a bit harder to tell what it is but it is a whale jumping out of the water...hee hee...i thought it was cute.
after much coercing we finally got Jett to smile for the camera... notice he has a Cheetos mouth too!

Rylee is such a doll...even with Cheetos all over her face!!! she is becoming such a little person.

well so much for the quiet peaceful evening...as we are getting ready for bed chaos breaks out...Davis puts 2 DVDs in the player almost breaking it (this was after trying to put the movie only he wanted to watch not what both Jett and Rylee wanted)...Rylee is screaming at 10:30pm in an apartment...Jett is wanting Davis to lay with him and watch a movie and Davis is being his usual selfish soul and only thinking about himself. i am absolutely going to pull my hair out!!! aughhhhhhhhhhhhh! :o(

if anyone out there has any suggestions on how to deal with a 9 year old with an attitude who respects no one and thinks he is the only member of this family, please send them my way!!! i am making Davis sleep on the couch tonight by himself as punishment...he is terrified to sleep alone...because i bend over backwards for him - i am not going to do it until he gives the rest of us the respect we deserve. i wonder if punishment even works for him...he has had the PlayStation taken away for a month (still has 3 weeks to go) for talking back to us, he left his book at school that he needed to finish reading in order to do his project so now his Gameboy is taken away until his book has been read...what more can we take away from him???
